Primary Job Purpose   

Reporting to the nominated aircraft commander to assist in the safe and efficient conduct of flights. In the event of the incapacitation of the Commander, the First Officer will assume command. 

Key Responsibilities  

• In conjunction with the aircraft commander, assure the safety of the Aircraft and its contents     


• Achieve and maintain high operating skills and technical/regulatory knowledge 


• Demonstrate good operational discipline through adherence to ATrS Standard Operating Procedures. 


• Make recommendations for the improvement of operational safety, efficiency,  policies and procedures 


• Foster a team working style conducive to the development and maintenance of the highest standards of Crew Resource Management being an ambassador for ATrS and a role model for other ATrS crew.  

Knowledge and Experience  

Essential 

• Experienced pilot with Airbus type rating 


• Demonstrable strong leadership potential, technical knowledge and ability. 


• A flexible, positive approach in accordance with the ATrS Behavioural Competency Framework. 

Desireable 

• A330 type rating 


• ETOPS or Longhaul experience  

Additional Information  

Due to the nature of the organisation, all employees of AirTanker Services are required to be security cleared to SC level. If successful in your application we would support you with the SC process. As a guideline only, you would normally need to have been a UK resident for the last 5 consecutive years.  Further confirmation can be found on the National Security Vetting (NSV) website https://www.gov.uk/security-vetting-and-clearance    

If you have not been a UK resident for the last 5 consecutive years, please be prepared to request an Overseas Criminal Records Check for these countries as you will be asked to provide this for referencing and security checks if you are successful.
